Financial Assistance

We strive to provide affordable recreation programs for our residents. To make sure everyone has access to recreation, we offer financial assistance programs for select programs and services based on eligibility criteria.

Fee Assistance Program

The Fee Assistance Program provides a $300 credit per person toward Community Services registered activities or memberships. Those within 25 per cent of Low Income Cut-Off (LICO) rates receive $200 credit per person.

Clarington families and individuals who either:

  • Receive Ontario Works
  • Receive Ontario Disability Support Program income support
  • Meet the Low Income Cut-Off threshold as per Statistics Canada
  • Currently reside in Clarington on a Canada-Ukraine Authorization for Emergency Travel

The credit is valid for one calendar year from the date the application is approved.

The credit is non-transferable and cannot be carried over to the next application year.

Fee assistance does not include any extra costs of materials or supplies for programs.

All family members who live in the household must be listed on the application. If any person does not wish to receive subsidy they may check the opt out box.

To qualify for the Fee Assistance Program, you must submit copies of the following current documents with the application form:

Proof of income

You must provide a copy of one of the following documents:

  • Goods and Services/Harmonized Sales Tax Credit Notice
  • Canada Child Benefit (CCB) or Ontario Child Benefit (OCB)
  • Ontario Works monthly statement (including a statement of deposit with address)
  • Ontario Disability Support Program monthly statement (including a statement of deposit with address)
  • Canada-Ukraine Authorization for Emergency Travel

Proof of residency

Include a copy of one of the following documents with your application:

  • Valid Ontario Driver's Licence
  • Utility bill (hydro, gas, water)
  • Valid Ontario Photo Card
  • Property tax bill
  • Insurance policy (home, tenant, auto)
  • Mortgage, rental/lease agreement

All supporting documents must be from the current tax year.

Ontario Works and Ontario Disability Support Program must be from the current month.
